Championing the wines of North Lebanon, Ixsir is among the most prolific wineries in the country. Their vineyards lie at an altitude of 1,800 metres, among the highest in the country, creating a unique product that can’t be replicated in the more renowned Bekaa Valley. What also makes Ixsir stand out is the fact they are one of the most sustainable wineries in Lebanon, winning awards for the green nature of its production and the buildings you’ll visit on a tour here in the hills of Batroun.
During a visit to Ixsir you’ll take a tour down into the cellars and learn about how these wines are produced, and enjoy a tasting of their selection – this can include just two wines, or the full range. The winery also has an excellent restaurant upstairs (particularly perfect in summer as it’s laid out under a collection of mulberry trees) that you can have lunch at alongside the wine tour.
