To stay in Baffa House is to experience one of the most authentic accommodation options in Beirut. The house was bought by an Italian-Lebanese couple (the Baffas) in the late 1930s, and their descendants decided to turn it into a guest house. That vintage and family-run feel is definitely still present in the guest house today, from the retro pieces of furniture that give each room bucket-loads of character, to the artwork and photographs on the walls created by family members. Furthermore, there are only four rooms here so you really do feel like you’re staying in someone’s home.
The house is located in the trendy Mar Mikhael district, where you are just a few minutes’ walk away from bars and restaurants that come alive at night and spill out onto the pavements. A delicious breakfast is included in your standard room rate, and there is a restaurant on-site serving traditional Lebanese cuisine.
