As the name suggests, Mir Amin is set in – you guessed it – a former palace, but not just any old palace. This grand building was built by Emir Bashir the Great, one of the legendary Druze princes of the Chouf region. Originally built for his son in the 19th century, it enjoys a commanding position overlooking Beiteddine, Bashir’s own palace and one of the most striking landmarks in the region. Mir Amin is characterised by countless sweeping archways that cast beautiful light across its courtyards, a restaurant with views right down into the valley, and a large swimming pool.
There are 22 rooms and suites here, all spacious and with a mix of modern amenities and lavish touches like decorative nightstands and chandeliers. With traditional, upstanding service from the staff, this makes for a regal place to stay in the Chouf area where you’ll feel truly spoilt.
